Bright Side
by Evelyn Stewart There are mountains in the distance, And I smell the salty earth. I see fields running on for miles, Sometimes filled with wheat and corn, I feel their happy song. The raindrops splatter on my lashes, The thick clouds' happy tears. Wind whistles in the air, Music to my ears. The grass rustles another tune, While the raindrops pitter patter. I smell the salty earth, hear the happy song, Feel the warmth and chills around me, And all the colors I see, Are as bright as I would ever know, Even on a day as dark as can be.
