From Summer On
by Cassie Harris
Cold summer nights never felt so warm
Out of breath from running around town
But slowly these memories fade
Because you are no longer around
Stupid things are better at 2 in the morning
Laughs are louder with a bit of rapture
But slowly they lose significance
Because I don't have you here to savor
Somehow everything feels upside-down
Bright summer days never felt so hollow
Try to use the sun as a way to forget
Loneliness is a bitter pill to swallow
Out of breath from running around town
But slowly these memories fade
Because you are no longer around
Stupid things are better at 2 in the morning
Laughs are louder with a bit of rapture
But slowly they lose significance
Because I don't have you here to savor
Somehow everything feels upside-down
Bright summer days never felt so hollow
Try to use the sun as a way to forget
Loneliness is a bitter pill to swallow
