That's What They Said
by Elizabeth Anderson
They say I'm too young
to make any choices,
to be bold and determined
and unafraid-
they say I'm too small
to be exposed to the world,
where there are supposedly monsters
that crawl in the night.
But isn't it my life?
Because though I am young,
I have a voice and the power to say
whatever I wish,
whatever I think-
why don't I pick on you for a change?
to make any choices,
to be bold and determined
and unafraid-
they say I'm too small
to be exposed to the world,
where there are supposedly monsters
that crawl in the night.
But isn't it my life?
Because though I am young,
I have a voice and the power to say
whatever I wish,
whatever I think-
why don't I pick on you for a change?
