Heart of the Storm
By Emily Seth
She was a hurricane
A flurry of formidable rage
Against cowering foes
Drawing strength from the heat of the battle
And the last breaths of those she left in her wake
Barricades can only do so much
And one can only run so far
She will peter out eventually
When there is no heat left in her body
When the only last breath left is her own
Until then
We can only wait
For a mother’s fury
To take its course
