Me, Myself, and I
By: McKenzie Mollica
I am writing this in need of release,
as a way of breaking free.
I am wounded and weak,
and need some time to think.
People always pick on me,
and I just don’t understand.
When people look at me,
What do they really see?
Behind this pale and delicate face,
is a girl that needs to escape.
She needs to be set free,
to heal and save me.
I am facing conflict with myself,
and I put my hope up on the shelf.
I've tried so many times,
and have yet to succeed.
The more I sit and think about it,
I have no one here for me.
I’m very disappointed.
I thought I was better.
But all I do is make things worse.
I look around, and take in what I see.
I see people playing, and laughing with glee.
They seem to be having fun,
but still I sit here all alone,
Wondering when someone will be there,
for me.
